The Q Ride course is a competency based assessment that you complete satisfactorily to get your motorbike licence.

The course aims to ensure participants fulfill a range of criteria and demonstrate an appropriate level of skill and proficiency as a motorbike rider.

The Q Ride Gold Coast program not only focuses on improving the quality of pre-licence rider training but at it also aims to educate, create awareness and enhance road safety.

Getting Your Learner’s Licence

Be aware that you can now ride LAMS approved bikes as a learner and, at the moment, for your first year (it’s called an RE licence).

To be eligible for a learner’s licence you must have held a car licence for at least 1 year.

You must also:

• Be 18 years of age
• Complete the application
• Show suitable evidence of ID
• Pass eyesight test
• Declare you’re medically fit
• Pay the written rules test
• Pay the licence fee

Then you have to pass the written test (here are some practice ones).  You get 5 questions and you have to get 4 right.

The written test is easy……… especially if you’ve had some practice.  Do the practice ones and then get in and do the real thing.
